Why Choose Merv Spencer Photography
Self-Taught, Genuinely Skilled
Merv learned photo restoration the hard way — through years of patient, hands-on practice, not automated tools. That experience means even severely damaged or torn photographs can usually be brought back.
One of the Highest-Reviewed in Derbyshire
Local reputation matters. Photo Restoration Services has built its name on careful, honest work and results that families are genuinely proud to display and pass on.
Real Restoration, Not AI
Every photograph is worked on personally in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom — by hand, section by section. Missing detail is often rebuilt using other prints you provide of the same person, scene or occasion, not generated by a computer.
A Personal, Local Service
Based in Belper, Photo Restoration Services offers a genuinely personal service to Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire — with the flexibility to post your photos to us from anywhere in the UK.
Not AI — Real, Painstaking Craftsmanship
It is a common question, and an important one: is this done by artificial intelligence? The answer is no. AI restoration tools guess at missing or damaged detail, and it shows — faces, textures and backgrounds often come out looking artificial or wrong.
Merv works differently. Each photograph is examined closely, then painstakingly restored by hand in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom — tear by tear, blemish by blemish. Where part of an image is missing altogether, Merv will often ask you for other prints of the same person or occasion to use as a genuine reference, so the result is accurate to real life, not invented.
That extra care and time is exactly why families across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire keep coming back, and why Photo Restoration Services is rated among the best in the area.
